HTC Velocity 4G Brings LTE Smartphones to Germany

When it was time for AT&T to kick-off service on its new LTE network in the US, the carrier did so with a pair of LTE Androids, including the HTC Vivid. More recently, we've seen the phone prepare for an Australian launch, under the name HTC Velocity 4G. Now we're getting news of plans to introduce the Velocity to European markets as well, and in doing so, bring the continent what will reportedly be its first LTE smartphone.

Germany will be the nation to first get its hands on the Velocity, with carrier Vodafone announcing plans to begin sales in the near future. As its LTE network is still being fleshed-out, sales of the Velocity will be limited to those geographical regions where the carrier currently provides LTE coverage.

The HTC Velocity 4G is powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, features a 4.5-inch display in qHD resolution, and has both an eight-megapixel main camera and 1.3-megapixel front-facer. We've seen the phone in a couple color variants; Vodafone will be getting the Velocity in white.

Vodafone has not yet revealed the Velocity's launch date, nor the phone's price, but says it will do so shortly.
